📡📡📡 New BIP - Reorganize the Dev team, Multisig and go ahead! Basis V2 is live since 26th April, we have seen the dynamic incentive and BAC vault working. Basis Lending, revised BAS emission and more ecosystem collaboration are on the way. We are on the right direction! However, we have to be transparent with our current limits and bottlenecks. The DEV team capacity is the most critical topic which had already lead to the following issues. - Constant delay for development progress, e.g. BIP-11 and BIP-13. - Minor bugs cannot be fixed for weeks, e.g. wrong UI APR. - Not sufficient communication between DEVs and community. As the original and true decentralized algo stablecoin, we are doing something which have never been done before and we are facing the challenge which have never been seen before. Without a capable and fully committed DEV team, we will for sure lose in the future competition. After listening to the voice of community and aligned with Morty, we propose the following. 1. Basis Cash team reorganization - Morty will remain as lead DEV, overall responsible for coding and tokennomics. - DEV team defirick, defibeth and will leave the project, as they cannot ensure the necessary capacity for Basis Cash. Unfortunately, some users have deposited/withdrawn despite this, resulting in skewed ratio calculations. For example, someone who deposited BAC/DAI LP tokens in our Jar would receive a larger number of pTokens than was deserved. Accordingly, the migration will now additionally comprise taking a snapshot of user entitlements, which may lengthen the time it takes for withdrawals/claiming to be enabled. We understand that the community is justifiably frustrated by this, and sincerely apologize once again for our failure to deliver on time. We underestimated the complexity of the BIP-11 dynamic emissions structure, and as a result the code became too complicated. Despite spending the last 48 hours attempting to mitigate this issue through refactoring the code, we ended up having no choice but to roll back some of the V2 branches since the test codes had low coverage. Unlike many other DeFi projects, we are building all our modules from scratch and we fully anticipate to rollout V2 as planned, albeit delayed. Current Estimated Timelines - Code to be open-sourced by 4/4 for community audit - Internal migration of BAC-DAI LP will commence thereafter. Users will not have to migrate. However, this is necessary for the transition to dynamic emissions, as we first need to combine the rewards into a single block before reallocating dynamically. Finally, we acknowledge that our communications should have been better, and delaying on launch day is not a good look for Basis. We will do our absolute best to make this the last time we miss a deadline. We appreciate the continued support from the community, and ask you to bear with us just a little while longer.
